      Product Manager Interview

      16 Feb 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LiveRamp (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2014

      Interview

Extremely convoluted interview process- many touch points with no real connection. Initial call with recruiter to discuss role led to talk with member of Customer Implementation team. He mentioned that a lot of the job was mundane, wondered if I would want a more technical role, but said there were lots of opportunities to move up in company because of growth/ acquisition. This was followed by an interview, which felt more like a conversation, with the head of Product. We talked a lot about business side, no time spent on technical. An offer for an onsite followed, where I was instructed to make an API-driven product, using 2+ APIs to be presented to team. Onsite interview with Head of Product and 3 other team members, + presentation. I was initially off put by the fact that no one greeted me when I arrived. When I got someone's attention, they asked if I needed anything. I asked for a drink, was led to an interview room to wait, and the drink never came. Presentation was very laid-back, got no challenging questions. Interview questions centered around my background and interests, application of tech to solve problems. Following presentation I met with a team member who was very excited to prove how smart he was with brainteasers. (This was mostly evident through his condescension but was really displayed when he told me not to erase my whiteboarding as he walked out, presumably so that he could prove to the Engineer who followed that he challenged me.) After the onsite, I was told that I was not a great technical fit for the team- I found this interesting given that I was asked so few technical questions and very few people I interviewed with could actually explain what they/ their team does. They asked if I wanted to interview for another position- thankfully I had other offers and did not have to wade through the quagmire again. On the whole, there seemed to be a total lack of direction there. Or, said another way, the interview processes seemed wholly disconnected from the company, as if they heard that there is a way that people do things in tech in the Valley, and adopted it, without any thought about connecting it to their company.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LiveRamp in Jun 2024

      Interview

Applied on LinkedIn, recruiter reached out to schedule a phone screen. The phone screen went well and the recruiter seemed helpful and engaged. He moved me to the next round to meet with the hiring manager. When I met with the hiring manager, our conversation seemed to be going well and he asked if we could chat a bit longer than the time we had scheduled. He talked about next steps but then I was ultimately ghosted. I reached out to the recruiter and recruiting coordinator multiple times as well, but I haven't heard back at all(not even a canned rejection email) and it's been over a month now. Seems like most candidates have been ghosted based on the other reviews here - super unprofessional and disappointing.

      Easy interview

      Application

      I interviewed at LiveRamp

      Interview

Met with the recruiter for the role only for them to tell me that they are looking at an internal candidate for hire. When asked why schedule candidates for external call, it was clear it was merely a formality for documentation sake and nothing more. What an absolute waste of time as the recruiter didn't share information about the team, the role or any other details.

      Interview

Pretty standard 4ish rounds of interviewing. Went through all of them and got positive feedback. Then I was ghosted. I reached out, nothing. When are employers going to understand that this isn't professional, polite, or acceptable? They said this was a priority role,
