I applied online. I interviewed at Lionwood Software (Lviv)
Interview
I had a very positive experience during the interview process. The communication was clear and well-structured from the very beginning. The interviewers were professional, friendly, and genuinely interested in my experience and approach to problem-solving.
I especially appreciated the transparent discussion about the project, responsibilities, and expectations. The technical part of the interview was challenging but fair, and the questions were relevant to real-life scenarios.
Overall, the process felt respectful, organized, and engaging.
I was discriminated by language and HR declined to talk with me and continue the interview process. Ukraine law allows multiple speaking languages in non-official communication and official communication where services provided outside of Ukraine (our case). I am not government employee and my native language is Russian even though I am citizen of Ukraine. There is no law to restrict this on the contrary it protects other languages. But this company seems to be above the law. They required to speak Ukrainian internally, I told that I would feel more comfortable to speak in either Russian or English (both languages they understand, English is in their requirements).

Phone Screen: A brief introductory call with a recruiter or hiring manager to discuss the role and the candidate's background in more detail.
Portfolio Review & In-Depth Interview: A more formal interview with the hiring team or design team. There will also be discussions on the candidate's experience, design thinking approach, and soft skills like communication and collaboration.
Design Challenge (Take-Home Assignment): Sometimes companies may provide a design challenge related to the position or a specific product/project. This allows them to assess the candidate's problem-solving skills and design thinking process firsthand.
