I applied online. I interviewed at Lil' Drug Store (Cedar Rapids, IA)
Interview
I interviewed for a position and was later informed that the role had been filled by another candidate. However, within a few weeks, the same position was reposted. This was confusing and raised concerns about the transparency of the hiring process.
Throughout the interview, “great company culture” was emphasized repeatedly. If a candidate did accept the role, it is unclear why the position reopened so quickly. Situations like this can leave candidates questioning whether the role was genuinely filled or whether expectations were aligned on both sides.
I encourage the company to be more transparent and direct with candidates regarding hiring outcomes and role status. Clear communication is essential to maintaining trust and a positive candidate experience.
Additionally, I hope the company considers expanding diversity and inclusion efforts beyond manual labor and warehouse roles and into professional and skilled positions. Minority candidates are educated, experienced, and actively seeking meaningful career opportunities.
Greater honesty, transparency, and broader inclusion would significantly improve the interview experience.
