Between November and December 2022, I interviewed with Liberty Mutual's Helmsman TPA data management and governance group. The job opening was ranged posting for hiring three Data Analysts at each level: associate, senior, and principal.
I was contacted and screened by a Liberty Mutual recruiter via LinkedIn in early November. The recruiter contacted me because I work for a very similar department at an LM competitor. In mid-December, I underwent two rounds of interviews with the hiring manager and other team members. I was given a strong impression and told to expect feedback plus next steps that week.
I never heard from Liberty Mutual again. Multiple follow up emails and LinkedIn messages to my recruiter went unanswered. For over a month, LM's applicant portal displayed my application status for the position as 'Under Consideration', until it finally changed to 'Not Selected' a few days ago, at the end of January. I received no rejection email.
My interview experience with Liberty Mutual was fairly positive to start but ended with me ghosted and silence that was agonizing, unprofessional, and downright offensive; especially after multiple interviews. This is a particularly niche field in the data industry and I will be cautioning my network about Liberty Mutual's interview practices in this department. Woefully disappointing.
