      Customer Care Representative Interview

      12 Dec 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Leapsome (New York, NY) in Nov 2022

      Interview

Adding to the chorus of reviews here: too many rounds, and a case study round that seemed to hinge on immediate insider knowledge of the product and company, rather than demonstrating skills. I also had this misfortune of working with a contact recruiter who was consistently unable to answer basic questions about the process and company (including the office address for where I'd be working. I was told from the beginning there would be four rounds, including a case study and culture fit survey, ending with meeting the founders. After the third round, I was told they "still weren't sure if I was ready" to meet the founders (what is this, the Wizard of Oz??), and they scheduled one more interview with a manager before rejecting me. It felt more like a reality TV show than a serious job interview, structurally speaking, and there was no clear feedback on why the winds changed besides a reference to me confusing two terms within the platform. Based on the reviews, Leapsome seems like a great place to work and a terrible place to interview. Best of luck to anyone trying to bridge that gap!

      Interview

I should’ve know this wasn’t going to go well based on the interview reviews for this company. I originally applied to be a CSM and then got an interview invitation to be a customer care rep which I NEVER applied for but they felt would be a “better fit” based on my skills. I wasn’t even given a chance to go through my experience and explain why CSM was my choice. I went for the care rep interview just to see what was going to happen and of course it’s a interview with recruiter and then you do a case study and have 30mins to prepare for it . I did the case study and answered questions after with one of the team leads but she seemed very uninterested to speak to me and was unprepared. She kept thinking about questions to ask off of the top of her head. I knew I didn’t have a chance because of how bored the interviewer sounded to speak to me.
