I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LandVault in Jan 2023
Interview
I recently had an interview with LandVault, and unfortunately, the overall experience left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. The interview process started off well with a friendly and engaging recruiter who contacted me via LinkedIn to schedule an initial phone screening. While I was pleased to have passed the first phone screening, I was disappointed with the unprofessional behavior of the hiring manager during the interview. Although the call was scheduled to start at a specific time, the hiring manager was unfortunately late to join, which caused a bit of frustration on my end. During the conversation, I noticed that the hiring manager seemed disinterested and spent a large part of the time with his face resting on his palm. This behavior made me feel uncomfortable and somewhat undermined my confidence in the company's commitment to finding the best candidate for the role. While the hiring manager did ask relevant questions about my skills and experience, it was still evident that he had not taken the time to review my resume or prepare for the interview. As a job candidate, I believe that it's important to have an interviewer who is fully prepared and engaged in the conversation, and unfortunately, I did not experience this during my interview. Furthermore, I was told by the recruiter that I would be followed up with after the interview, but unfortunately, this did not happen. Despite following up with the company via email, I did not receive a response, which was disappointing. While I am grateful for the opportunity to interview with LandVault, I do believe there are areas where the hiring process could be improved. I would encourage the company to consider providing better training for their hiring managers to ensure that all candidates are given a fair and equal chance to showcase their skills and experience. Additionally, I would suggest that the company improves their communication practices to ensure that all candidates are provided with timely and accurate feedback.
