The beginning was good but the real core values of the company were shown at the end.
It took around 2 weeks to complete the process. Initially, it was a 2 technical +1 HR round which I completed successfully, and the HR greeted me, "Congratulations, you have been selected!".
After my selection, the HR spoke non-stop for around 20 minutes explaining the companies core values and ethics. And then he said, "Actually, we don't have enough budget and we can offer you max 10% hike only." I was like, "Why? Why did you waste everybody's time when the company did not had budget of even a standard 30% hike that I was expecting?" The offer was not even close to the expectations for negotiation.
The HR replied, "We have another position in a different project, let me refer you for that.' I said, "fine!" And the 3rd technical round was conducted which was more like an organised round to reject this time. After this round the HR did not callback for more than a week. When I reached out to him, he said, "We can give you 10% hike only". I said, fine, I am okay with that but I would like to opt for permanent remote opportunity. He said, "Yes, we have that option as well, and I will let you know by evening." It's been again more than a week that the HR did not even feel like giving a closure to that discussion.
It's unethical that companies like this engage candidates who can join immediately by luring them that they can afford to pay the expected salary. But when the candidate is selected they will say we don't have that budget.
It's waste of time for the candidate and ultimately puts a wrong impression about the company. Now, I understand why so many people have shared similar experience with Kore.AI on GlassDoor.
Suggestion to the candidates: You will enjoy the technical rounds as they are challenging but please don't expect too much even when you hear from the HR, "Congrats! You have been selected."
