      Sales Development Representative Interview

      4 Dec 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I interviewed at Kong in Dec 2020

      Interview

I was interviewed and tbh it was one of the worst experiences I have had. I knew it was bad when he organised an interview with no meeting link then messaged me 10 minutes late.I don’t even think the recruiter looked at my CV. He opened up with critisizing everything on it and continued then to just slate everything I said. Pretty unpleasant experience then about 15 minutes after the interview was finished I got a message that said the role isn’t even available in the country it was advertised to be in so there was no point at all. I spent time and energy stressing during an already challenging time with COVID-19. Seems like a really poorly run recruitment team haven’t actually experienced something as bad and Iv interviewed for hundreds.

Thank you for the very candid feedback and I apologize for this experience. I personally followed up with the recruiter who took responsibility for this. He admitted to this not being his best and imagined how it came across to. you. We also apologize for the change in strategy and moving the role to a different location. We understand that this is no excuse and I'd welcome the opportunity to have a one on one conversation with you. Please let me know if you'd like to further discuss and you can email me at chuck.waygood@konghq.com. I wish you all the best and hope you have a safe and healthy New Year.

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kong

      Interview

The interview process was really quick and efficient. I met with six people in total. First I met one of the recruiting managers. She went through the role and asked me about my experience. After this I was scheduled to talk to four people. The SDR manager, the VP of People, the VP of Sales, and the Growth Marketing manager. These meetings took place consecutively, one after the other. I kept in contact with the recruiter over Linkedin, who set a follow-up interview with the SDR Manager and after that, I met with the CEO. The whole process took between two and three weeks.

      Question 1

At the start of each interview the questions were informal and it felt like more of a conversation.
