      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Knetik (Altamonte Springs, FL) in Sept 2014

      Interview

The place seemed a fun and friendly atmosphere. It was also very close to home for me, so I was even more excited than usual for this interview. The interview took maybe 30 minutes. I thought it went very well. The 2 men interviewing asked me a few very basic questions about software and my coding skills. They didn't ask me anything beyond questions that had to do with the platforms I've used, the languages I code in, whether or not I've ever used source control. They asked me about coding projects I did on the side. I said none because I currently didn't have time between a job and school. One interviewer seemed to be the software guy, and the other seemed to be maybe a project manager or something. Then they took me to see their CEO who was friendly, asked me some questions about what I was looking for in a job, etc. He seemed pleased with how everything went and told me to expect a call to schedule another meeting to discuss hiring me. It seemed I had the job. He has his secretary call and schedule another meeting or interview and I came in at the scheduled time. He then proceeded to tell me (without any further questioning) that they would not be offering me the job because I did not have enough experience. To this day, I have no idea why he wouldn't have just called me and said that instead of having me get all dressed up and prepared for a second interview just to tell me that. Also, I applied for an internship where there was no experience necessary. The pay was only 10$ an hour and this was one of the lowest paying internships I applied for.... most other places offer at least 14-20$ an hour. He further added insult to injury by saying that since I didn't do a whole lot of coding on my own(apart from school) they didn't think I showed enough interest in it. That blew my mind. I didn't realize my hobbies were essential to getting a job in my field. I gathered that this is what the software guy in my interview had told him. Then he added even FURTHER insult by saying that if I could provide them with a programming project in java that impressed them enough, they would CONSIDER allowing me to work for them for FREE. Needless to say, I walked out and never looked back. I don't know if I've ever been more insulted in an interview in my life. I accepted an internship position at another company the very next week that paid much more, valued my time and skills, and offered me a full time position after the internship was over. No regrets. They must be idiots to think that in this market you can actually get away with hiring a software intern for free. The field is way too competitive for that. I also couldn't believe they made all those assumptions about me without a more involved interview. The interview they gave was superficial, and they didn't ask me specific questions about my skills or other computer science questions.

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Knetik

      Interview

Very welcoming group of people. The CEO is very personable and easy to chat to. The lead guys are very skilled and have a good idea of what they are looking for. I spoke to the CEO for about 20 minutes and was shown the office space. I went to a meeting room on the 2nd floor to see the fun rooms and then discuss the technologies they used. I was asked various scenarios where I would do certain tasks in programming. I was asked some of my largest traffic based projects and how I handled it. It was very casual and friendly.

      Question 1

How would you manage sharing sessions/files across a load balanced system.
