My interview was cut short and lasted for about 15 minutes.
We went through a couple of typical starting questions like, Tell me a little about your background and describe my work experience. Then the hiring manager then told me that the position may be a bit of a stretch for me.
Now, I don't mind the honesty and getting to the point; the manager knew the type of candidate he wanted. But if this was the case, shouldn't I have been screened out initially by HR? It seemed like the manager was looking at my resume for the first time during our interview. My complaint is that I had prepared extensively and I was being disqualified in the first 15 minutes, which now seemed like a waste of time.
I truly appreciated the time and opportunity, but the experience reflected a chaotic and disorganized culture, at least for this department. Kite is essentially a start-up so I'd expect their culture to be a work in-progress, but this was pretty disappointing.
To anybody applying to Kite, please consider my experience.
