      Statistical Programmer Interview

      20 Oct 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Kite Pharma (New York, NY)

      Interview

Interviewed for Stastical Programmer position. Two people we interviewing me on skype. I could see one face for a second before they turned off the video. No explanations, no apologies. I thought it was weird. The recruiter they worked with provided names over the phone, with heavy accent, I could only guess but it was very urgent so I thought I’ll ask the interviewers about their names. Well, if you are from the same country you’d be able to catch names. That was weird again, but I kept on. The first person asked me SDTM and stat programming general questions, nothing hard really, no need to have much experience to answer. One question I went in detail was: in which order do you generate SDTM datasets. I’ve was employed at couple CROs and familiar with different approaches when it comes to generation and order of run SE and SV domains so I explained in detail which approach I was at following at that time and why. It took about 30 mins for the first interviewer to go over his questions. Second interviewer (remember I can’t see them), without introduction starts his line of questions. He starts repeating same questions that his colleague and me just went over! No worries, I can repeat my answers as I’m starting to think he must have just walked into the conference room. He asks again a question about order of generation and run of SDTM datasets. After my answer for the second time he asks same question again, a bit louder this time.... I was baffled if he heard me for the past few minutes, and politely repeated my answer. He asks me again! It was so rude, he either had a bad day or someone else in mind for the position, and obviously wasn’t interested in interviewing me, but perhaps needed to go through the dog and pony show to have this interview out of his way. It was such rude attitude, it’s a shame company allows someone like that to hold position and even conduct interviews. We networking between programmers, and it’s not hard to pin down person’s name. STAY AWAY from this company, if they are so disrespectful during initial interview I can’t even imagine the work environment those doofuses create.
