- Applied online and received a Zoom interview invitation within a week.
- I was informed via Gaijinpot messenger (rather coldly, in broken English) that the position at the location I was interested in was no longer available, but instead they would offer a position about an hour away. I accepted the interview offer despite it feeling dishonest and scammy.
- The interviewer was so kind (native English speaker). Most interviewers in this line of work try to deliberately give you a hard time to see how you react, but this one was really supportive and genuine.
- I assume that they were not satisfied with the fact that my previous teaching job did not have 30 or more students in the classroom at once.
- I guess they have not found the right person yet because the job listing is still up (still advertising the wrong location) after two months of my interview (their loss tbh).
