      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Keyence in May 2016

      Interview

After applying via an online job board, I got a call from a recruiter stating that he believed I'd be a great fit for this role. I was then directed to apply on their company website. I proceeded, and shortly after I received a confirmation for a phone screen. The phone screen went well, and the kind young man on the opposite line seemed impressed. Shortly after that, I got a confirmation for a HireVue interview. I prepared very well and thoroughly for this, and I successfully recorded it for this step. After THAT, I was promptly given a link for a Caliper assessment test. At this point, I've submitted my resume and cover letter THREE times for the same position. The test was unlike any other personality test I've ever encountered, however I didn't try to "cheat"; I answered honestly, and paid close attention to the questions that seemed to repeat themselves. Since I was going through the interview process so fluidly, I assumed I was passing and I'd be given a chance for an on-site interview. I received an email after the CALIPER assessment stating that they would not be considering me for the position. It was an incredibly inefficient, time-devouring, soul-crushing experience. If the caliper assessment was all Keyence cared about, it should have been conducted prior to everything else. The only good that came out of this is ultra-preparation for other roles in other companies, and the recruiters actually were very polite and friendly.

      Question 1

Explain your background and why you're a good fit for this company. Why Keyence/Why Sales? What motivates/demotivates you? Your top three location preferences and why?

      Application

      Interview

Very odd, one hirevue and then they fly you out to chicago. The chicago process is smooth. One interview and roll play. Great time to practice skills and continue to get better.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about yourself and to sell them a product I use everyday. They also asked for a time I showed dedication to achieve a goal.

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Keyence

      Interview

The interview process starts with an informational session. After that, you complete a digital interview assessment, and only those who pass move on to a traditional Zoom interview. There are definitely a lot of stages you have to pass to get to the final round.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They may conduct a mock sales conversation where you will have to sell them something. Or they may ask you what you think will be the hardest part of the job.

Good practice for the job, multiple stages involving phone screening with HR, meeting with director, then mock presentation and interview with manager. Make sure to practice discovery questions for the mock presentations to help you understand client needs.
