I was interviewed on the spot after submitting my application. It's been awhile since I interviewed. however I remember one of the questions was "why do you want to work here?" my response was that I wanted to make money and have fun. Hired on the spot.

If they want to do a background check you are most likely not hired. I have seen it happen that they do call you back after an interview. However unlikely.
