It was one of the most disappointing interview experiences I've had.
The interview panel consisted of interviewers from Gurgaon and Bangalore. While I expected a challenging discussion, the interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational rather than constructive. One interviewer, in particular, fixated on a single point very early in the conversation and continued returning to it throughout the interview. Instead of exploring my experience or capabilities holistically, the discussion became repetitive and increasingly aggressive.
Interviews are meant to assess candidates, but they should also reflect the organization's culture and professionalism. I left feeling that there was very little respect for the candidate's perspective. The tone often came across as dismissive, and there seemed to be an imbalance of power where the objective felt less like evaluating suitability and more like asserting authority.
A rigorous interview is absolutely fair, many great organizations conduct tough interviews while remaining respectful. Unfortunately, this experience lacked that balance. It affected my ability to present myself at my best and left me questioning the organization's approach to candidate experience.
I hope JLL takes candidate feedback seriously because every interview, regardless of the outcome, is an opportunity to leave people with a positive impression of the company. Professionalism, empathy, and respectful dialogue should never be optional.
