I applied through university. I interviewed at Jones Day (Washington, DC) in Apr 2018
Interview
Met with director supervisor and had 15-20 minute, resume-based interviews with several partners and associates. They each asked different questions ranging from why you want to work at the firm to what you learned from a certain experience on your resume. At the end of the last interview with an associate, you are taken down to HR to take a quick assessment that tested grammar, typing, and basic arithmetic.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Jones Day (Washington, DC) in Nov 2016
Interview
Met with the manager of project assistants/paralegals, current project assistant, staff attorney, and HR manager. Everyone was really nice but my interview took two days and a total of about 4.5 hours and no one ever contacted me again. Although they requested my availability for the following week to meet with attorneys, I never heard back. I understand if I did not get the job but I believe it is rather unprofessional to keep someone in the interview process for 3 weeks and never contact them again, regardless if you are going to offer them employment or not. Luckily I was hired by another firm the following week.
