I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Jio (Bengaluru) in Nov 2018
Interview
Overall, One of the worst interview experience in my career.
A recruiter reached out to me to schedule the interview with Jio. Initially, I had a telephonic discussion with the Manager. The discussion was more about distributed architecture, REST, microservices, scaling etc.
After finishing the screening, I was asked to come for F2F discussions. When I went onsite, I had a introduction discussion with a person from Jio Senior leadership. He mostly was trying to sell what he did earlier and was explaining about Jio's scale. I did not really feel great about the conversation.
Next, I was given an assignment to design a popular messenger. There was no clear information on how to capture the output, whether it is softcopy or written documents. I prepared all design artifacts and API endpoints. After waiting for about 2 hours, one guy came in and started asking basic questions like ACID,CSRF,XSS, Stack Vs Heap, Threads Vs Process,Hashing and Salt etc.
When I asked about the assignment, He just glanced at my papers and asked why Load balancers are used :). After all this, I was asked to leave, with no questions on my assignment for which I spent about one and half hours.
Overall a very negative experience and the office atmosphere also is very dull . Better stay off if you are have strong fundamentals and does not want to have a immature experience.
