I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Jenner & Block (Washington, DC) in Nov 2015
Interview
I was contacted by the Head of Paralegals and invited for an interview about 6 months after I applied for the job. I was sent some paperwork to be filled out before the interview. What was strange is that I had to notarize the paperwork, which I only realized 10 minutes before the interview. However, they had somebody in-house who could do it (thankfully, I didn't have to pay a fee to be interviewed!).
I had a chat with the Head of the Paralegals who was pretty nice. She asked me some questions that were not too difficult, like why I was looking, why I would be a great fit, some very generic questions that you can find on any website offering job-hunting tips. I seriously almost laughed because she asked exactly the same questions that I had seen on one of these websites. Then she left and I was interviewed by the lead paralegal and one more person. Now that's where it got very awkward because they had no clue whatsoever what to ask. They kept looking at each other uncomfortably and in silence, it was painful. So I had to fill in the silence by chatting away about my qualifications without being asked. It was evident they were caught on the spot - they were simply not prepared or not trained to interview. Anyways, I knew I didn't want to work there right then, and I was not offered the position either.

Question 1
The Head of paralegals asked some generic questions about why I was looking, why I would be a good fit, etc. What caught me off guard is when she asked what my manager would think I still need to work on.
Interview was fine. Office work is office work. The questions weren't any different than any other office job/legal assistant work.
It helps to know someone, obviously, so if you have a network that can help you out, the interview will be a breeze.

What do you do when the phone rings at 6PM on a Friday?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Jenner & Block (New York, NY) in Apr 2016
Interview
I was contacted by HR about a week after I applied. She scheduled a time for me to meet with their Senior Administrative person and the head paralegal. The interview lasted about an hour. The process was very straightforward and the staff were friendly. However I was disappointed that I never heard back from them at all.
