I applied online. I interviewed at Jane Street (Hong Kong) in Feb 2026
Interview
The programming test was conducted on CoderPad using my preferred programming language. There were two interviewers present: a lead interviewer who guided the session and a second interviewer who observed and evaluated my performance.
The main focus of the interview was not on syntax accuracy or whether the code could be executed perfectly on the spot, but rather on how to design structured, clean, and optimized solutions. Minor syntax mistakes or forgetting the exact name of a function were generally acceptable, as long as the intended functionality and approach were clearly explained.

Question 1
The interview questions mainly focused on how I approached problem-solving. If I made a mistake or proposed a suboptimal solution, the interviewers would usually ask guiding questions to help me identify the issue and improve the solution on my own, rather than directly pointing out the answer.
it was nice. He was very kind and talkative. he explained the problem quite clearly. It was good experience. Will apply again definitely. Jane street is very good. You guys shud apply too
Fast and efficient, everyone is friendly.
The interview was fully techinical, no background or behavioral questions for me. The style is very collaborative — asking for hint in a proper way would be considered a plus I guess.
First round was online, one round of 1hr class design questions.
Given a class interface, you need to implement it with another given class interface. My question is like a general tree question.
You kinda need to go far enough to get to next round, so if you're too slow or have trouble solving easier parts, you cannot make it. I didn't move on.
