I was approached by a Consultant firm, for the opening, the confirmation mail I received, it had "Experience in Selenium and Automation testing tools" highlighted.
Reaching the venue, I found there was a big crowd there, and it was more of a walkin interview.
They grouped the people for QA in a board room, and took a Written Test. A big chunk was eliminated at this round.
Then started with the Technical interview round. I noticed people coming in afternoon slots got interviewed before people waiting since morning. There was high level of mismanagement.
I was the last one to be interviewed for the day, after waiting for around 5 - 6 hours.
I don' t know if the interviewers actually went through the CV or they knew for which position they were interviewing. There was not a single question from Automation testing, Scripting language or Selenium. They asked everything which was not mentioned in the CV, and got more inclined towards DB testing, which was not the desired profile, followed by manual Testing. I felt at certain point of time, the interviewers were doing a kind of formality or time pass.
Even after the interview, though there were almost nobody other than one or two waiting for their further rounds, no HR did come up to know the results, and I had to query to the HR.
It was simple wastage of time, appearing for this company.
I had noticed dissatisfaction even on candidates coming from big companies, after their technical rounds.
