The process took 3 months. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (New York, NY) in Nov 2016
Interview
Interviewed for over a year total. 12+ interviews. Asset managers are great, but HR is awful. Very bureaucratic and unforgiving.
Pros: Strong reputation as the largest AUM firm, great, salary and benefits, perks, etc.
Cons: The people who hire you are not the ones who will be working with you... this is very flawed and leads to miscommunication and disorganization. On-boarding and pre-employment teams are rude and unprofessional.
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (Fort Worth, TX) in Feb 2015
Interview
Applied through campus recruiter, was contacted several weeks later for a superday. Consisted of three 30 minute interviews with two interviewers per session. It was very enjoyable. You will want to walk in knowing exactly what the position you are applying for does. Obviously you are expected to be able to show them that you have a good understanding of how macroeconomics work as well, i showed them this through my stock pitch and explaining how the current market conditions would effect my returns.
