I interviewed at JMP Securities (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
The interview process was incredibly fair. Throughout 3 rounds I spoke with a variety of team members from analysts to MDs, all of whom seemed concerned about my well-being and happiness at the firm. There was a mix of technical and behavioral questions, but nothing that you wouldn't expect preparing for banking interviews at other MM/EB/BB firms. Based on the other analysts, it seems they recruit primarily from semi-targets and target schools.

Question 1
How would $______ of depreciation affect the three financial statements?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at JMP Securities (San Francisco, CA) in Sept 2017
Interview
First started with a very technical phone screen, a model test, another interview, and ultimately an invite to their SF office. Keep doing your studying for the IB guides but if you get invited to the SuperDay, plan on mingling and getting drunk with the other analysts. I think I ultimately got dinged for leaving the bar early to make a 4AM flight instead of sacking up and pulling an all-nighter.

Question 1
They asked pretty much every single question that you would find on a technical guide and you had to have a good explanation for why IB and what you have done is relevant to it.
I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at JMP Securities (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2016
Interview
Received an interview off of on-campus recruiting and the first round was a phone interview. They asked briefly about myself, walk me through my resume, then went straight into technicals. The questions were not too hard but studying must be done. You should have both a finance and accounting background if you want to be most prepared to answer all the questions thoroughly.
