I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at JCPenney (Bakersfield, CA) in Oct 2019
Interview
It was national hiring day so I waited in line for about 2 hours
Dress business casual
Firm handshake
left with a paper saying I got the job to be a cashier
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked for name,experience, and schedule
Ask 8 questions on a what if scenario
Ex.one of the other questions were if a customer can’t find the specific shirt he wants what would you do
It was overall an easy interview. In a group setting of interviewees, we were asked to each talk about what we thought good customer service was. Then, we had some blocks to build a structure, a house I remember. Without the person you were instructing being able to see the blueprint, you had to describe what to do with the blocks without touching the blocks. I didn't know how I did, but I got hired. This was the holidays of 2017. :)
