I applied through university. I interviewed at International Rescue Committee (New York, NY) in Aug 2025
Interview
My interview experience was both challenging and rewarding. The panel asked thoughtful questions about my background, interests, and future goals. Although I felt nervous at first, I became more confident as the conversation progressed. Overall, the interview helped me reflect on my strengths and understand the role more clearly better.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at International Rescue Committee (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
The position advertised was a full-time 12 month contract with benefits. I had applied online, and a recruiter contacted me via email and asked to schedule a phone call. I spoke with them on the phone, and then we had scheduled a zoom to talk about the role. After those two conversations, the recruiter had sent me a questionnaire to complete in which I would answer how I would approach certain situations. You could consider it a quiz. After that, they had scheduled another panel interview with around 3 other employees. After that, the recruiter had asked for 5 references. I provided their information and each reference responded in a timely manner. This whole process, the 3 interviews, quiz, and reference check took around 3 weeks. A week later, I had reached out to the recruiter for an update. They had told me that the position I had interviewed for was no longer available, but they had an alternate position that was available. This position had the exact same duties as the one I had applied for except: it was a 8 month contract, and it was not eligible for benefits. l o l. What a waste of everyone’s time. No explanation or apology despite a month of cooperation and effort on my end. Apply somewhere else.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you had a difficult situation at work, and how did you handle it.
The interview process was very straight forward. I met with an HR person for a screening interview and then was asked to do a second interview with employees at the IRC.
