It’s a fast and haphazard process and in my experience a waste of time.
.
Following a conversation with a contract Recruiter who found me on LinkedIn I was scheduled to interview with the Regional Manager who supposedly traveled a long distance to meet with me. When I arrived, the Regional Manager was strangely unavailable with no apology or explanation although I could see and hear him laughing on a personal call in his office. I wound up spending 15 minutes talking to the office manager who was cordial but not at all encouraging and asked me NO questions.
.
There was a depressing atmosphere in that office and employees did not seem to be happy - it felt like they just wanted to check me off the list and get me out the door. You learn later that the candidate they wanted to hire had already been selected but they needed others to interview – I was notified an hour after my interview that the position had just been filled.
.
Be aware that once you’re in this company’s database a new contract Recruiter will contact you the following year (likely because more sales reps have left) and they’ll push hard for you to interview and start the process again.
.
I was initially interested – but following that experience I noticed on LinkedIn that very few in sales stay with this company longer than a year and they seem to hire only people with limited or no sales experience. I have never worked in their industry but if I did, I would choose another company with longer-term happier employees.
