      Customer Success Manager Interview

      7 Nov 2019
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Inkling (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2019

      Interview

I applied online and a week or so later the recruiter reached out to me to schedule a phone screening. After the initial screening, I had a video interview with the hiring manager and I was then flown out to HQ for a half-day of onsite interviews with several members of the team that included a short presentation. Prior to the onsite, I was provided a detailed list of people I would be meeting with and what themes/topics they would be covering with me during my interviews. This was a first for me and speaks to the investment the company is making in its employees and the strength of the leadership team. It also and helped sell me on Inkling and was extremely helpful for my interview preperations. Overall this was one of the best and most well organized interviewing experiences I have ever had in my 15+ year professional career. The process from the first interview to the offer took approximately 3 weeks.

      Customer Success Manager Interview

      17 Aug 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

      Interview

This was not the best experience. Phone screen with the recruiter was interesting. She was very nice but clearly inexperienced. She sounded nervous and read off a piece of paper with canned questions. When I asked her questions about the company and role, almost all of her answers were "I don't know" or "I think". I didn't get a good sense of the role at all. She then set me up with a phone call with the hiring manager. The hiring manager dove right in without any rapport building. She asked question after question after question and didn't respond to any of my answers. After the rapid fire questioning we had a few minutes left for my questions. I asked a few, and she seemed impatient responding. After the call I got a message from the recruiter saying they were moving the role to a different location. That was fine with me. They did no selling of the company or painting the vision of what it's like to be an employee there.
