The interview panel included both experimental and theoretical professors, each with diverse expertise. Ultimately, what truly matters is having a clear thought process. It's far better to speak confidently about what you know than to attempt to cover uncertain ground or be vague.

What is the broader question that I want to answer in my PhD?
It was okay, based on post graduation and major project. Boards are friendly and willing to listen. There are two rounds for each department, lasting 15-20 minutes. After two rounds lists are released for selected students who can do rounds of laboratories and meet potential supervisors
