A couple of phone and in person interviews first. They are very charming and say all the right things. Have you come in to work a full day or two to see what you can do. After I did that I received an offer. They were hoping for me to not give my current employer the standard 2 weeks notice, so that I could quit immediately and start working for them. Which I thought was an odd and unprofessional thing for them to ask of me. Also, once I let them know about my vacation I had planned where I would be out of town for a week, things became even more unprofessional. The vacation was a month away, plenty of notice, and as with any potential job I let them know of any planned trips I have before starting there. I was told they needed to reference their “handbook” on their policy of new employees taking time off because they had “never had a new employee request to use pto 5 days after their start date”. In one email they told me it was okay for me to start after I got back from my vacation, and after I accepted and said that sounds fine, they replied and basically said never mind you have to start before your vacation, do you want this position or not. After their flip flopping and ultimatum I decided to decline the offer. I felt they could have handled themselves more professionally. It was summer, a lot of people have trips planned, it is not odd to alert your potential employer of any time off you need before starting the job. The difference was most established employers have a policy for this and intouch clearly did not.
