There were 3 rounds. 2 technical and 1 with the hiring manager.
Round 1 lasted only 30 minutes as the interviewer joined late and wasn't prepared for the interview. She asked basic stuff like introduction, my experience and then moved onto an excel assignment. It was pretty straight forward one to check basic excel skills. Post the interview I was given a take home assignment which needed to be done in excel, PowerBI or Python. It was a simple dataset containing customer transactions across different categories and across E commerce partners like Amazon, Flipkart etc. I chose Python for visualization and for answering the questions.
Round 2 was around my past experience, how I'd handle a team, task assignment and some questions to check behavior. I was also asked to explain 1 project in detail in terms of problem statement, objective, data used, model and the impact of the solution. Post the interview I was again given a 2nd take home assignment. I was asked to do some basic EDA, data manipulation & aggregation and to come out with the % of customers to retain based on historical quarterly revenue data. I used recency, consistency and monetary concept along with quantiles to arrive at the retention number. I used python notebook again.
Round 3 was a short discussion with the hiring manager. He asked why I want to join Inmobi, what am I looking forward to in terms of work, how soon can I join etc.
Finally, I rejected the offer because I found the team inexperienced. I was being interviewed by folks who were 4-5 years junior to me and lacked depth of knowledge. HR should've considered my seniority and experience level while assigning interviewers. Further, the work is mostly around reporting and there's hardly any data science work. Tools majorly used are excel and PowerBI
So if you're looking for descriptive analytics (reporting, excel, PowerBI etc) and not modelling/data science work, then go for this role else don't.
