Applied to the job online via their careers website and got an email asking if we could arrange an initial informal online interview through Microsoft Teams. The online interview went well and the lady who interviewed me seemed very keen and kept saying how she’ll contact me in a few weeks after as she’d be on holiday and not to worry. Weeks went by and nothing. No email or call to update me with the process. Not even an email to say “we’ve progressed onto the next round”. Nothing. A message to Iceland: please update your hiring system and understand that people who apply for jobs are willingly making time for you and your company as we are interested in the role and company. Even a quick email update to ensure transparency for all candidates no matter what makes a huge difference which you obviously don’t have in place.
