I applied through university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at ISN Software (Lubbock, TX) in Mar 2022
Interview
I met the ISN team at the career fair at my university. After giving them my resume and contact information, I received an invitation to do an on campus interview with ISN employees on campus.
On campus Interview:
- Scheduled a week after the career fair
-All candidates were invited to a meet and greet at a local bar to get to know the interviewers and company better. I really liked this because it allowed me to show my personality and social skills in a natural environment before the official interview process began.
-First interview took place on campus with 2 current ISN employees. It was 20 minuets long and consisted mainly of behavioral questions.
-Take advantage of this interview to ask questions about the company. The interviewers want to get to know you but they also want to see that you are interested in the company and the position your are applying for.
- One tip I have for this stage is to study up a bit on what ISN is and what they do. It is a unique industry and it is impressive if you have an understanding of it prior to the interview.
Virtual In-House day
-If you make it past the first interview round, you will be invited to attend an In-house day and 2nd interview.
- This was virtual for me but I know they normally fly candidates out to Dallas for this portion.
-All day meeting consisting of panels, presentations, and informational sessions.
-At the end of this day you will have your 2nd and final interview, followed by your presentation (presentation materials and topic provided a week in advance).
-This interview is 25 minuets and nearly identical to the first interview.
-Be prepared to talk about past work/internship experience.
-A week or so after the In-House Day, I received an email with an Employment offer.
Tips:
-Be professional, but be yourself! ISN really values their office community and culture and want to see if your personality would be a good fit for the office.
-Prepare a few good stories and past experiences that prove that your are a good candidate rather than just saying "I'm hard-working" etc.. The behavioral questions make this a bit easier but think of some examples before so that you are not put on the spot.
-Do not tress to much about the presentation. They are just trying to gauge your public speaking and presenting skills, they do not expect you to be expert on a job you have not even started yet.
