Interview
Upon submitting your resume to the IRS, you will be asked to take an online assessment. Basically, you are given a simulated phone conversation with a database of information in order to see how well you can use the information to answer questions. If you score well enough on the test you are asked to come in for an additional live assessment. During this test, you speak to a person pretending to be a customer. You answer their question based on information you are given before the test. At this stage, you are also given a brief interview by a manager where they ask you general interview questions.

A fake customer becomes irate at an answer you are required to give them. They demand a supervisor and you are instructed to assure them a supervisor will only give them the same answer.

Short, standardized an with no problems. It's a long process but if you get in its worth it since you enter the federal workforce where you will be able to grow and learn as a professinal

No interview for this position. I was just called with a job offer and told to come in to pick up my equipment. This was during covid, so it may have been different.

Interview
Very Easy. No interview.
I applied online. Attended the hiring event. They selected 200 people. Sent us and email and we had to answer questions within the email. Wait for a tentative offer email. Accept the offer. Wait for someone to call you and do your fingerprints and take a pic for your badge. After that process i had to wait for a firm offer and that offer let you know your pay and schedule.
