I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ING (Bucharest, Bucuresti) in May 2020
Interview
I applied through LinkedIn, had to add the CV . After the application, they selected me to take a test on HackerRank that included some programming questions (you could’ve answered with whatever Programming Language you were familiar with), some logical questions, some that evaluated your Problem Solving skills; the test lasted 120 minutes and it was manageable.
I was selected to take an online interview with the trainers that went a bit odd. First of all, the interview did not focus on my actual skills, the link sent by email didn’t work (they couldn’t hear me) so they had to improvise and move the interview on skype business ( I had to install it of course; wasting precious time doing that).
A lot of questions were focused on my people skills (and my abilities to work in a team, some were focused on what motivated me) but the logical thinking questions were awful; the other trainer showed his desktop with the questions written in a ppt file and you had to come up with the answer. I wasn’t prepared for that so my answers were probably not what they wanted to hear. After not giving them the correct answers they ended the interview and after 5 days I’ve received the refusal via email.
I think they should’ve been harsher in the first phases of the selection. There is no point in giving hope and taking an interview when they had to take about 80 other interviews ( I admit I don’t have actual experience in programming but the name of the course is literally Switch to Programming).
