I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at ICF (Fairfax, VA) in May 2011
Interview
Brought resume to career fair; received an email to submit application online the next week; received request to interview about a month later, had the interview a couple weeks later, and received the offer about two weeks after that.
Interview was several hours (basically all day) - met with different staff, had lunch (paid for) with 2 employees; took 2 written question tests; received reimbursement for travel expenses
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
The written questions - they were pretty simple that it almost felt odd that they gave us so much time to complete them. I kept second guessing myself and thinking I was missing something.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ICF in Apr 2023
Interview
Two interview rounds. The first interview was more about getting know each other, interests, the team. The second interview was with more senior staff members, a bit more on talking about technical abilities and interests, followed by a case study writing assignment. The assignment took 2.5h and was adequate for the level that I applied for.
The process took a long time. Sometimes I did not hear anything for several weeks and had to chase them, other times they were super responsive and called me spontaneously to discuss expectations. Overall positive and friendly, but at times inconsistent!
Panel interview with multiple people. Lasted two hours. Panelists were nice and professional. Described the position, asked a series of about 10 questions, asked about interest in topical area of project and technical skills.
