Typical HR screen - very positive experience.
Hiring manager call was the worst I've had in my career.
I approach interviews as a friendly conversation. Unfortunately I got into an argument with the hiring manager over a simple stats question.
Following her instructions, I answered the interview question to the best of my ability, only to be interrupted over and over. The question she was asking, and her yelling at me of how to answer it was completely different.
The question focused on p-value and explaining it to a senior executive who had zero knowledge on statistics.
I approached the question providing a simple example and providing layman terms to explain p-value.
The hiring manager kept screaming at me just to give her the answer as I was going through my example. How could you explain a technical term in a simple sentence when the stakeholder has ZERO context on the definition?
The interview felt extremely unprofessional to the point I had written a note to never work with the hiring manager - and that's a first for me in my professional career ever.
