I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Hy-Vee (Burlington, IA) in Jul 2015
Interview
It was a pretty quick process, and it was done open interview style. There was one interview and it took about 30 minutes. I met some of the 1st shift employees and they were pretty cool to talk to. Just answer every question honestly and truthful and you will get a callback. The offices were nice and inviting. I sat in the waiting room while I waited for my turn, it was one of the better breakrooms I have seen. The person who interviewed me was really nice and welcoming. It took a week after submitting my application to get hired and get my first weeks schedule.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hy-Vee (Springfield, IL) in Mar 2018
Interview
I was brought into the office and at the manager's desk he explained to me that he expects employees to "hustle." After the interview he fast-walked me back up to the customer service desk, like a race. I was supposed to keep up and somehow prove I could "hustle." I've seen the employees "hustling," I shop there. They don't.
