The first interview with HR was quite nice, but the second step is a two-day take-home assignment with many things to implement. Usually, those tasks require 4-8 hours, but for the team lead position, it makes sense to grill the candidate more. What I ddin't expect is that after spending 2 days of my time on the task, nobody gonna check my assignment for almost 3 weeks. After multiple ping emails to HR, I finally got a basic reply that they didn't like the work enough. Not even a follow-up interview to talk through the code and explain my work. I definitely recommend not agreeing to any take-home tasks before you talk to the tech team.
