I applied through university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Hometap (Boston, MA) in Feb 2024
Interview
There were three steps in the interview process and last call to discuss the offer. The first call was behavioral and we talked the role, my background, how I could be helpful to the team and hometap's business model.
In the next call, I got to talk to one of the engineering managers who told me about problems they were working on, how engineering team tackles challenges and the tech stack they use. We also discussed my skills and how I can be a addition to his team.
In the final interview, me and the interviewer talked about a hypothetical problem and how we would design a system to tackle the problem.
The interview process was very unique compared to other places I had interviewed. In other companies, the focus is solely on leetcode problems which most of the time is not even part of the job.
At hometap, I was asked about my Django and React experience which I use at job everyday. I was tested on my critical thinking and problem solving skills.
