I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at HomeSoft Systems (Houston, TX) in May 2016
Interview
I found the job posted on Craigslist, which said I would make a minimum of $750/month for a minimum of responding from my home office to one quote per day, plus a bonus for quotes that result in a sale. 1099 contractor. I wrote a cover letter and sent a resume, and then received a few automated emails with material to read. It requested I pay $45 within 72 hours to prove I was committed to the position, as a deposit. This raised a red flag but I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
I checked them out and found many negative reviews on Indeed, claiming this is a scam job. I created a fake account on their site and submitted a quote to see what their quotes looked like, but never received one, ever.
After being accepted, I waited for an entire month before the onboard training was supposed to begin. I asked why it was taking so long and Lori Clough said I had to be patient. I asked why all the negative reviews on Indeed and didn't receive an answer. When they didn't send me the training materials on the due date, I asked again, and was told to be patient.
Finally after 1.5 months of no work, I decided that if these guys aren't a scam then they are truly so incompetent that I wouldn't want to work for them anyway. Rather than wait who knows how long for them to process my refund for the deposit, I just filed a fraudulent transaction report with my bank as a failure to deliver services for payment.
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
Am I willing to commit to sending my quote within 24 hours of receiving it?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at HomeSoft Systems in Mar 2016
Interview
Had to fill out a long application, then was forwarded a job description and had to take a test on it and answer more questions. Then prior to accepting a phone interview I had to agree that I understood the job description. After all this, was finally scheduled for a phone interview. This company also requires you give them $2,950.00 prior to starting this position-supposedly as a deposit for the iPad and Security control panel they provide for your use (even though these things don't add up anywhere close to $2,950). They say they will refund this if you leave the company and return this equipment, however legitimate companies don't do this.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interviewer was 5 minutes late. At one point she had phone issues and her phone dropped off. I expected an immediate call back, but she took 10 minutes to call back because she took another call in the interim. Then when she finally called back, she said she needed to reschedule. Overall, this was one of the most unprofessional interviews I have ever gone through.
