Application
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Home Office (Croydon, England) in Dec 2017
Interview
Completed online application form with competencies and was invited to take a verbal reasoning sift test. Near maximum and was invited three weeks later to interview.
Interview is based on the same competencies as application form. Feedback from application competencies is given beforehand for you to improve and gauge where you are.
Was only asked about my competencies and why I applied. Also if I had any questions. You are allowed to bring notes to interview.
Had to take written test afterwards which was only negative thing about experience. As my interview had run over I had to wait 45 minutes for the next lot of tests to start.
Staff were all very friendly and mix of casual and professionally dressed.
The process is very long. I applied on 05/05 and got the final decision on 01/12. If you have time, it’s worth taking a chance. The first part, which is the test, is the most interesting part. You are going to find out a lot about yourself! The second is a writing test, and the third is an online interview. All are very clearly explained.
