I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Home Instead (Frederick, MD) in Aug 2016
Interview
Interview was conducted in the reception area, at ear shot of the receptionist and other employees having conversations with the receptionist and visitors coming in and through the door. The atmosphere wasn't right for an interviewer regardless of the position. Basically, the interviewer wanted to know your experience relating to the job..
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
During inclement weather and your shift is over, but the next caretaker hasn't arrived. What will you do?

Interview
Seemed great at first. Then I started noticing a bunch of discrepancies in stuff they were telling me after a 3 hour unpaid orientation and 4 hour training. One of them was that they said they don’t offer full time, yet all their job listings on every site state full time. They tried saying “no we’re very upfront about not offering full time,” when what they were telling the others in training with me was “it will take awhile to build up to the hours you want.” That is not the same thing. When I started questioning these discrepancies, I was then told I had to work a shift before being paid for my training. I wasn’t told this AT ALL. I don’t want to work for a company that is already misleading employees but now I don’t get paid for the 4 hours of training if I don’t work for you? Very good at being misleading and giving half truths to get you in there and waste your time.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Home Instead (Green Bay, WI)
Interview
The interview was very comfortable and they were willing to work around my full-time job hours. The training before I started with the elderly client was very thorough.
