The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hollister Co. in Nov 2010
Interview
You walk in the store and apply at the little kiosk they have on the side of the cash wrap. You get to pick your own interview date and time (they have them tuesdays and fridays at 4:00). It's always a group interview and they really look for people who stand out in a group. They love outgoing people who are energetic and smile a lot. They got sued for diversity a couple of years ago so now they always ask about diversity in the interviews and how it's important in the workplace. You don't have to dress business casual for the interview, you literally dress wearing flip flops and whatever the models are currently wearing at the moment. Super casual.
A common question asked in group interview settings is, “What does diversity mean to you?” It's a foundational topic that allows candidates to express their understanding of inclusion, equity, and respect for different perspectives. This question often opens up dialogue around how individuals value unique backgrounds, experiences, and identities in the workplace. It's not just about race or gender—it encompasses cultural, generational, and even cognitive differences. Employers use this to gauge how someone might contribute to a supportive and collaborative environment where everyone feels seen and heard.
The interview was a group interview but it was very easy. Everyone answered the same questions. I applied and was offered an interview within the same week. They choose who they like. Not difficult just don't be weird. There lost their sheen recently though so you should be fine if you don't fit the mold. Is there not 30 words yet this is ridiculous I don't know if I can trust this site
