Pretty straightforward discussion with the hiring manager. Easy to bond over our challenges in the job since I am already working in the same role. They described the department and the day-to-day very well and it was easy to get a good sense of the culture. When the salary topic came up, I saw that the hiring manager did not receive my salary expectations so positively and uttered the phrase there are other aspects that matter more than salary. I was called for a second interview but I declined. The main reason I am looking for another job is to find my next challenge and increase my compensation. I feel that I can easily do that without having to end up in Ludvika. The industry is interesting to me but I got the sense it is even more conservative than the one I am already working in and not in a good way. I also got the feeling it is a lot less organized or process-centric as one would expect them to be judging from some roles they were hiring in the same division for the first time.
