      Senior Digital Project Manager Interview

      6 Mar 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Singapore
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hipster (Singapore) in Jan 2025

      Interview

They sent me an email about the role, package, and compensation that would be provided if I were rejected after the face-to-face interview, along with an assignment that had to be completed within a week. I completed the assignment and was then invited for the interview. However, I politely requested to reschedule as I was still working for another company. The interviewer insisted that it was urgent and could not be rescheduled because he was going overseas. When I told him I couldn't attend, he said he would update me after returning from his trip. It has now been two months, and I have yet to receive any updates. At this point, it just feels like a complete waste of time to have gone through the process, especially after receiving no updates. It also seems like they’re just trying to get free labour from interviewees under the guise of an assignment. If they truly wanted to compensate someone for their time, it should be for completing the assignment, not for attending a face-to-face interview.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They sent me a business prospecting task, a business proposal, and a business solution assignment to complete.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely appreciate every candidate who invests time and effort in our interview process, and we're sorry to hear about your negative experience. You're absolutely right that communication should have been clearer. We acknowledge that there was a delay in follow-up after your interview, and for that, we sincerely apologize. As a small and growing team, we sometimes move quickly to fill roles based on availability and urgency, but that’s no excuse for leaving anyone in the dark. Regarding the assignment, we understand your concerns. The intention was never to seek "free labour," but to assess real-world problem-solving skills relevant to the role. That said, we will take your feedback seriously as we continue refining our process to ensure it feels respectful and fair to all candidates. Thank you again for your time and honest review—we’re learning from it and working to do better.
