I applied online. I interviewed at High Strength Plates & Profiles (Mississauga, ON) in Jan 2026
Interview
Awful process for the Technical interview. I was called in to meet with the IT Manager for a Technical Interview. It was scheduled for an hour. I flexed time to give this interview. The entire interview lasted 15 minutes. The IT Manager was fixated on my current remote role, salary and emphasized more than needed about this role being on site. He warned there is no hybrid option whatsoever to a point where it was annoying and unprofessional as I felt almost threatened. I applied knowing the pay and the fact that I am required to be on site. He asked 3-4 questions about my technical experience, only looking for a yes/no answer, interrupted me multiple times as well as the HR Talent Acquisition that was in the room. I've given many Technical Interviews and appreciate transparency from the IT Managers/Directors but this was handled unprofessionally. He spent the other time how great the last guy was and how he (IT Manager) ran IT for HSPP for the last 15 years

Do you have networking experience?
Are you married? .....highly unprofessional question but it was asked as a follow up to why I wanted to work here as he doubted my decision to apply.
