      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HealthCrowd

      Interview

The process is a bit different, as they are still a start-up and do not have any HR/recruiting team. All the recruiting and hiring comes directly from the Customer Success team itself, which proved to be a little bumpy. First interview was with a current CSM, pretty casual Webex meeting. Next was with a Senior CSM and that interview had more behavioral/situational questions. The final round was a panel with 2 interviewers each 30-min session, which was a total of 120mins. You meet with account managers and other CSMs. The company is so small, you even meet with the CEO or CTO. On top of the panels, you have to create a slide deck based on a role-playing situation and present it to the entire CSM team and CEO/CTO. They ask questions during the presentation as well.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Role playing situation. You are CSM, they are the client. Can you describe a complex process in simple words? How do you stay organized and efficient when WFH?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HealthCrowd (San Mateo, CA) in Jun 2019

      Interview

Applied online through a promoted (by Healthcrowd) post on LinkedIn. Initial phone interview with hiring manager. Second interview was two video calls - one with a current CSM, other with Director of Communication. Final interview was onsite - five, 30-minute interviews, followed by a 30 minute presentation. The presentation was to explain the Healthcrowd product to a hypothetical client - about 15 current HC employees. The five individual interviews were with three current CSM, a joint interview with CTO and CEO, and hiring manager. The presentation could be viewed as challenging as they did not provide a demonstration of the product or access to materials, beyond the company website, to prepare. All demonstrations and research information was not accessible through their site, as it is by request only. This is a much different presentation format than I have done at other larger (3000+ employees), and smaller (25 employees), tech companies. Overall the company seems to be growing, although their track record online was not stellar and the space is competitive now. The other CSM's were smart and I think I would've enjoyed working with them, as-well-as for the Director. The CTO, Clive, while very intelligent, came off condescending and not enjoyable to work with or for. I am unsure if I would've accepted the offer as I had a competing offer at the time from a company further along in their growth. Salary was 80-100k, with a 10% year end bonus.
