First I had a 30 min phone interview with HR, then had to send in a writing assessment, then had a 45 min Zoom interview with a senior CSM. I received a polite rejection email a few days later saying they were moving forward with another candidate. Initially I appreciated the prompt follow up. However, five days later I received another email asking if I was still interested in the position. I said sure and had another phone interview with one of the VPs. They frequently referenced that follow up steps would be for me to schedule an on-site interview to meet the whole team. My efforts to schedule this were ignored and ten days later I received another rejection email saying they were moving forward with another candidate once again.
For a company that prides itself on being one of the best places to work, I was really disheartened by this series of events. My phone interviews all seemed to have gone extremely well. I thought I should have at least been afforded the opportunity to meet the team in person before they made that decision twice. I think they forgot that there are humans attached to the resume.
I asked for constructive feedback after the second rejection and they replied saying they were looking for someone with more experience even though I have the exact qualifications it said they were looking for in the job description (just under 3 years of account management and sales experience in healthcare - job description called for 1-4 years of experience). I really hope they’ve learned from this mistake and are at least waiting until they have another candidate formally accept their offer before sending out rejection emails & then backtracking in the future.
