The initial interview was conducted online, which was good given the very short notice—I was contacted one day to interview the very next. It was a panel interview, and everyone was friendly. The questions were straightforward, and they provided the job description only a few hours before the interview.
What stood out, though, was that they asked questions specifically to see if I had read the job description. This felt deceitful, almost like they were trying to "catch me" unprepared. If reviewing the job description was that important, it would have been more reasonable to send it the night before, allowing adequate time to review it thoroughly.
While the role ultimately wasn’t a fit for me, they would have never known that because they ghosted me after the interview. They mentioned, unprompted, that there would be a follow-up in-person interview, but I never heard back. Instead, they reposted the position with a higher salary range. The lack of follow-through was disappointing and unprofessional, especially after setting the expectation of next steps.
