I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Handshake
Interview
The interview process was very chaotic. My first interviewer (the recruiter) was 7 minutes late to the call and couldn't go over the original time allotment. I was left with 2 minutes to ask questions at the end and didn't even get close to the amount of information I would've liked on the role and company. My second interview was with the hiring manager. She was very polite, but again, I was left with 3 minutes to ask questions at the end of the call and STILL didn't have all of the information that I would've liked to have. I was never told what the interview process was like, how many rounds there would be or anything like that. It was sort-of a shot in the dark. After each interview I followed up with the recruitment team and never once received a response from them other than a canned email to move me onto the next round. I was moved to the assignment portion of the interview on Friday at 6:00pm which required a presentation (~4 hours of work) and was asked to have it completed by Monday morning at 9:00am. A bit short notice, especially going into the weekend, and I was traveling that weekend, but I thought I'd knock it out early Saturday morning and be done with it. Well... 4 weeks passes without a peep from the recruiting team. I even followed up with my recruiter and heard nothing. After those 4 weeks, I received a generic no-reply email saying the role had been filled. Total nightmare of a candidate experience. My time didn't feel respected and I'm curious if they were even taking me seriously as a candidate. Super disappointing as I wish my time, communications, and expectations were prioritized.
