      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at HSBC (Bengaluru) in Apr 2010

      Interview

Summary: Got a call - Employee Referral Appointment at 5 PM, panel started interview only at 6:30 PM. 3 members in panel (two pretty young must be analysts, one little older guy) Experience: One of them was really pissed off with something in life, totally pounced at me. I am an MBA from one of premier institute, I think he must had failed entrance this year again (I am not trying to sound arrogant, but he was really rude to me), the other guy was supportive and the older guy was just nodding and all. They asked question after question and I kept on answering. Then he asked one of the statistical concept which I explained, i think so he dint like me answering, he went into details of the graph and i got confused. Bang on, the older guy said how can you not know this if you have worked in Analytics. My confidence got battered. Then he asked SAS question which I answerd. By now i was little exhausted fielding questions from all three sides. He asked me excel formula, i wrote it correctly except one small goof up. Interview ended here. As soon as i got out the graph came all to my head, as well as what i goofed up in the excel formula. The guy analyst one, got sadist utmost pleasure i suppose. Anyways a bad experience for me overall. Totally hostile environment.

I applied online. I interviewed at HSBC

      Interview

Telephonic interview : Asked SAS Code Questions and wanted exact syntax of code. JD was given for Credit Risk Modeling but interview was for fraud. Role mentioned by HR was different from what the interviewer mentioned. There is a discrepancy in what the HR said and what the interviewer said.
